As the new owners of All Marine, upgrading the ecommerce website was an important first task. The old site contained around 700 products on a very old platform that was small, not mobile friendly and difficult to use.
Migrating all the existing products with their descriptions, images and variations, was the first step for our developer. Crafting a new design and copywriting to improve the users first impression got started alongside the technical aspects. The new site went live in 2017 and since then we have completed some significant developments on the site.
All Marine is a distributor of Boating and Outdoor (B&O) products which gives them the ability to provide a big range of products at really great prices. B&O update their products and specials on a regular basis and the All Marine website had to be updated to match. Between their developer and ours, we worked a solution that syncs the B&O updates every 24 hours with the All Marine website. This meant that categories and menus had to be tidied up to match those of B&O while still allowing All Marine to load their own products without interfering with the daily updates.
A blog function was also added for the owner share helpful tips and tricks. An email newsletter template was designed inside Mail Chimp to send out seasonal promotions on products, and bring users into the ecommerce website.
With so many changes on this ecommerce website, it is time to review the design of the home page to ensure that the website is encouraging the sale of products and always improving the buyers journey.
